Xiaoyu Liu – DMA Trombone Performance

Xiaoyu Liu is from China. She worked as the professional bass trombonist at Adirondack Performing Arts Fellowship in 2022 and 2023. Xiaoyu did her undergrad at China Conservatory of Music in Beijing and her master’s degree and performance diploma of trombone performance at Indiana University, Jacobs school of music. She is currently pursuing her Doctoral Degree at University of Iowa as the Teaching Assistant of the trombone area.

Brady Gell – MMA Trombone Performance

I am a graduate student here at the University of Iowa pursuing a Masters Degree in Trombone Performance. I was born and raised in Overland Park Kansas and received my bachelors degree in Music Performance in Trombone from the University of Kansas. In my career so far I have had numerous playing experiences ranging from The KU Wind Ensemble, KU Symphony Orchestra, University of Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Fountain City Youth Brass Bands, and the Freestate Brass Band, KU Jazz ensembles, and numerous chamber groups of all varieties. I have also worked as a Marching Band tech and a low brass instructor for Mclouth High School and REW Music. Here at the University of Iowa my goal is to improve my skill and knowledge as a musician to the very best of my abilities and continue to grow my young music career.
